The kidney is one of the organs that work continuously to keep our body healthy. Today is World Kidney Day. The theme of the day is 'Healthy Kidneys for All'. Health is wealth. We understand the meaning of this sentence very well when we are sick. Kidneys are one of the most important organs that are constantly working to keep our body healthy. The kidney is basically a filter. The human body has two kidneys. It removes the pollutants from our blood out of the body. The main functions of the kidney are- blood purification The kidneys remove the waste products produced by the body's metabolism through the creation of urine, thereby purifying the blood free of waste. Maintaining water balance in the body If the water in the body is more than normal, the kidneys produce more urine, and if there is a shortage of water, the kidneys maintain the balance of water in the body by producing less urine. The top global causes of death, in order of total number of lives lost, are associated with three broad topics: cardiovascular (ischaemic heart disease, stroke), respiratory (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lower respiratory infections), and neonatal conditions – which include birth asphyxia and birth trauma, neonatal sepsis and infections, and preterm birth complications. Causes of death can be grouped into three categories: communicable (infectious and parasitic diseases and maternal, perinatal, and nutritional conditions), non-communicable (chronic), and injuries.  Leading causes of death globally At a global level, 7 of the 10 leading causes of death in 2019 were noncommunicable diseases. Influenza seasonal Treatment Seasonal influenza is an acute respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses that circulate in all parts of the world. It represents a year-round disease burden. It causes illnesses that range in severity and sometimes lead to hospitalization and death.  Most people recover from fever and other symptoms within a week without requiring medical attention. However, influenza can cause severe illness or death, particularly among high-risk groups including the very young, the elderly, pregnant women, health workers, and those with serious medical conditions.  In temperate climates, seasonal epidemics occur mainly during winter, while in tropical regions, influenza may occur throughout the year, causing outbreaks more irregularly. source by https://www.who.int/

Thank you for staying with us. The ethics of surrogacy Dr Herjeet Marway explores some of the ethical questions raised by surrogacy and what implications they may have for policy and law in this area. Archived What does this mean? Published 27 September 2018 Surrogacy is often thought to be a ‘treatment’ option for the infertile or an alternative to adoption, and so to be celebrated in fulfilling people’s desires to be parents. However, surrogacy also brings a wealth of more complex ethical issues around gender, labour, payment, exploitation and inequality. As a philosopher at the University of Birmingham, I am interested in ethical issues such as these. Further, as recently appointed Chair of  Surrogacy UK’s   (SUK) Ethics Committee, I help the organisation think more about the ethics of their internal procedures and external public policies. Take the issue of payment: surrogacy involves literal labour (physical and often emotional effort in both gestating and birthing). However, many
